- Born 1971 in Zurich, Switzerland
- 1991–1998 Undergraduate and graduate studies in Protestant Theology at the University of Zurich
- 1998–2003 Research assistant and lecturer at the Theological Faculty (chairf of Old Testament Studies and Ancient Near Eastern Religions) of the University of Zurich
- 2002 Dr. theol., Theological Faculty of the University of Zurich
- 2003–2005 Visiting Scholar at the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures of the University of California, Los Angeles; fellow of Swiss National Foundation
- 2005–2007 Fellow of „Nachwuchsförderungskredit“, University of Zurich
- 2007–2010 Assistant Professor of Old Testament at San Francisco Theological Seminary and the Graduate Theological Union, San Anselmo/Berkeley, California
- 2011 Habilitation, Theological Faculty of the University of Zurich
